UNIZIK HIGH SCHOOL GETS RE-ACCREDITED FOR BASIC EDUCATION CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION BY NECO

UNIZIK High School has been re-accredited by a team of inspectors from National Examination Council (NECO).  The team visited the School on the 24th of March, 2016 to inspect the school as it concerns maintaining the standard spelt out by NECO for eligibility to sit for Basic Education Certificate (BECE).


The inspection is done once every five years, and UNIZIK High School was due for this year.


The areas inspected include:
(1)    The National Flag
(2)    Admission Register for Junior Section
(3)    Attendance to School Register
(4)    Attendance to Class Register
(5)    Students’ Cumulative Record Folders
(6)    Junior School Syllabus/Scheme of work/Diaries
(7)    Students Population/Samples of their class work
(8)    Teachers Population and qualifications
(9)    Facilities in the school like
    a.    Examination Hall
    b.    Available classrooms and ventilation
    c.    Laboratories e.g.
i.    Basic Science Lab
ii.    Agric Science Lab/Store
iii.    Computer Room
iv.    Stand-by Generator

    d.    Workshops e.g.
        i.    Visual Art Studio
    ii.    Music Studio
    iii.    Basic Technology Workshop
    iv.    Food and Nutrition

e.    Sporting Facilities like: Volley ball court, basket ball pitch and tennis court etc.
f.    School Library
g.    Guidance and Counsellor’s Office
h.    Examination Committee/Office and Continuous Assessment Records
i.    School Security and Fencing


They also looked at the cleanliness of the school.  At the end of the whole exercise, UNIZIK High School scored 94.9% from their records and we were told that we took the first position out of the 35 schools they visited and inspected.
